Are Some People Meant To Be Alone?

Are you destined to stay single? Do you think you’re too much to stay alone?

So, you’re single and you’re starting to wonder whether that’s just how you’re meant to be.

The truth is,  no one is predestined to not find love or no one is meant to be alone. It must be noted that some people actively choose to be single  throughout their lives while others unfortunately do not find that someone they think deserves their love.

Some people always wonder whether they are meant to stay alone anytime they give off their best in relationships and they just don’t work.

We all know that person who has been in many relationships or that person on their way out of a fourth marriage.

How do you know if you are meant to be alone?

Some people have things standing in their way when it comes to forming and maintaining a healthy relationship.

How do you know if you are one of those people?

This is why we put this article together to help you determine the things that could be preventing you from being in a long term and healthy relationship.

  1. You like things your way

Partners need to understand, respect and appreciate each other’s uniqueness as it makes us unique.

However, there are some people who don’t have room for change in their life and as such, they can not compromise on certain things. These things could be the type and quantity of spice they like in their food, how they make their beds, how they keep their clothes,  how they fold their towels etc.

It’s important to point out that if you’re that type of a person, you should consider staying away from relationships.

  1. You can’t bear the thought of someone taking over the stage with you

You might want to consider being alone if you don’t appreciate being in a team. Being in a relationship is being in a team and there is no “only me” or “l” in a relationship.

When you’re in a relationship, you have to always consider your team

member’s values, opinions, suggestions and advice. They have to be considered in most decisions you make.

  1. You are controlling.

You won’t be successful in a relationship and perhaps end up alone if you think  you have to control every aspect of the person you are with.

Dominating and controlling people are very difficult to live with. You might have your way from the beginning but with time, the person you are with will want to have a say or eventually give up on you.

If you’re that kind of person, you might want to consider yourself single forever.

  1. You believe that it is better to be right than happy.

If you’re that type of person who worries a lot about being right, then you should start embracing a life of being alone.

It’s important to note that sometimes, it is better to just keep your ‘rightness’ to yourself instead of putting it out and fighting for it.

Remember that sometimes, it is better to be happy than to be right.

5. You’re shy

Getting into a relationship requires you to be daring,  fearless,  bold and have faith. If you’re that type of person that the thought of going on an adventure or even getting down on your knee freaks you out, then you might want to consider being alone.

6. No one will control you.

If you are the type of person who thinks contributing to a relationship means giving room for someone to control you,  then being alone is rather better for you.

You have to realize that when someone cares about you, they go all out to play a role in your life, they make, even suggestions about where you should be, how you should live your life or that they may even require you to join

the team effort.

If you see this as someone controlling you, then you should consider being alone.

7. You think of your benefits before thinking of your partner

You might want to consider being alone if you’re the type of person who considers your benefits over others. For example,  you like forcing people you’re in a relationship with to work on the kind of jobs you think are good for them when in reality, you just want them to work in a setting that makes you comfortable.

8. You like things a certain way, period.

Being in a relationship requires you to compromise. However,  if you always like things in a certain way and you don’t have to be considerate,  then you shouldn’t consider being In relationship.

9. You like your “alone” time way more than having any “together” time.

You’re meant to be alone if you think it’s all about you all the time. If you’re the type of person that enjoys being alone far more than being next to someone, then it is time to realise you won’t be happy in a relationship.

10. You don’t like chaos or company.

You probably aren’t meant to be in a relationship if the only schedule you want to deal with is your own. Being in a relationship means you have to consider another person in a lot of things you do. For example, you work around not just their schedule but their lives as well.

This obviously means there would be patches of interruption and chaos in your schedule. If you can’t contain or accommodate this, then you’re better off alone.

11.  You believe there is no surrender in a battle.

You won’t find yourself in a stable relationship if you are the “fight to death” type.

Relationships come with its ups and downs however, if you are the type that doesn’t know when to call it quits for peace to reign, then you should not consider being in a relationship.

Your partner will arrive at a point, get tired of your lack of empathy and always win your attitude .

12.  Other people’s problems irritate you.

Some people by their nature do not want to deal with their own issues let alone someone else’s. If you are that type of a person, then you embrace the possibility of being alone.

Being in a relationship means you are ready to share some of yourself with your partner and this means going out of your way to be there for them in times of need and provide the support they require.

13. . “What’s mine isn’t ours”

It’s important to note that being in a relationship requires you to be open and willing to share. Some people by their nature are possessive of almost everything from their belongings to their way of life.

If you’re the type of person who is very possessive and at the same time keeps secrets and mostly acts selfishly, then you should bear in mind that it will be difficult to accommodate another person in your life.

14.  You are a loner, always have been, always will be.

Some people grew up all on their own, saw their role models grow up the same way and as such, living all alone has become their way of life and it seems hard for them to turn that part of their lives off.

If you’re that type of person, it’s important to realise that you need someone in your life if you want to be in a successful relationship. You can go it all on your own, you need to keep that part of you out and embrace the thought of  being in a relationship.

15. Is your ego eating away your happiness?

If you’re the type of person who prioritizes your self-worth over happiness,  then you should not consider being in a relationship. However, it is important to realize that sometimes, you have to let go of your ego to maintain a healthy relationship.

16.  You question your purpose in life

You might not want to get into a relationship If you find yourself wondering about your existence and whether it has a greater purpose or not. This alone will not allow you to accommodate another person into your life and give them the needed attention and love.

17.  You don’t need anyone and prove it.

If you are the type of person who thinks you can do everything on your own, you are independent and can find your way around everything on your own, then you shouldn’t consider being In a relationship.

We all like the idea of being independent but there is the need to compromise once you are in a relationship.  Being in a relationship requires teamwork, there is no “I” in a relationship.

18. You’re a bit too fond of your “me-time”

If you’re the type of person who values  your “me time” more than your “together” time with someone, then you should reconsider your decision of getting into a relationship.

It’s important to know that not only is it normal but it’s also healthy to spend some time with yourself but also accommodate and enjoy being with someone also.

Final words

If omega or most of these signs sound like you and you are happy being single, then there is no guilt in choosing to remain single. However if you realize you are not happy being alone, then you should take steps to change and make room for another person in your life.

It’s important to note that these signs can be the reason why you haven’t found a long-term partner. There are several other signs you may be single forever. Some of these reasons may not be in your control whilst others  are within your control.

If there are things you can change about yourself, then you should do your best to change them. For example, if you realise you are happier alone, this may be who you are by nature but if you choose not to go on dates, then you have to realise that this is within your control.
