The family of late United Nations (UN) Secreatry-General Kofi Annan have announced the burial date for the former world figure.
Reports also suggest that there will be ceremonies in New York and Geneva. The family made this information available on Thursday, August 23, according to Starrfmonline.com. The announcement also said the Government of Ghana will announce the state’s plans for a ceremony in Accra. It continued: “The dates for those events will be announced in due course.”
The family has kindly asked that no flowers be sent. For those still wishing to have their thoughts and support reflected in a gift, they suggest a contribution to the Kofi Annan Foundation:www.kofiannanfoundation.org/donate.
“The Annan family wishes to thank most sincerely the many who have expressed their condolences following the passing of Kofi Annan.”
The late diplomat died on August 18, in Switzerland after a short illness. His wife, Nane Maria, however, disclosed to Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, in a phone call that he died peacefully in his sleep.
