Radio and TV personality, Delores Frimpong Manso aka Delay has revealed that she bought 2 houses at East Legon back in 2017 but has apparently not made noise about it because of her modesty.
Delay disclosed that her popular Delay Mackerel business was the pillar behind her success. The host of the Delay Show revealed this when she addressed a bunch of young men and women at the 2018 International Youth Empowerment Summit (iYES) conference at the National Theatre.
She also revealed the challenges she encountered when she first started the business, noting that she kept some of the mackerel in the storeroom, her kitchen and even in her bedroom when the situation demanded it.
But with time, sales of the product picked up in the market and she experienced overwhelming success with the Delay Mackerel. In 2017, she bought the house she was renting at East Legon where she kept the Delay Mackerel with the profit from the sales.
Speaking at the same event, Delay revealed she was thrown out of her aunt’s house by his husband when she was just 21-years-old in Tema, a suburb of Accra because they had a misunderstanding. She lived in a Mechanic’s shop until luck came her way.
”Around 2003 I was staying with my aunty at Tema and I had a little argument with her and her husband thought I was a bit difficult to control so they threw my sister and me out of the house at the age of 21. I had nowhere to go. I ended up staying with some friends at a mechanic shop in Tema Community 2,”.
