Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has said that President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, should consider nominating him as the new Electoral Commission Boss.
Yesterday, the Presidency released a statement in the evening dismissing EC Boss, Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Owusu-Amankwah from their posts. The decision has created a whole lot of controversies at the EC as at now.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong reacting to the new decision by the president said he wouldn’t reject if he was appointed as the new Electoral Commissioner in the absence of madam Charlotte Osei.
“The President must consider nominating me to fill one of the three vacant positions at the Electoral Commission,”
he said this on Oman Fm.
Charlotte Osei and her deputies, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Owusu-Amankwah had accused each other of financial malfeasance. Some parliamentarians have commended the president for his decision because they have been waiting for long.
