Defending English Premier League champions, Manchester City were shocked at home in their opening group game in the champions league.

The hosts were beaten 2-1 by Lyon. Two first half goals from Maxwell Cornet in the 26th minute and a Nabil Fekir goal was enough for the visitors to secure the needed 3 points against Manchester City.

Bernardo Silva pulled one back for the hosts in the 67th minute but that was not enough as they loose to Lyon who were the better side throughout the game.

Meanwhile, Manchester United had a flying start in their campaign away against Young Boys, beating them 3-0 to top their group after the first group stage games. A beautiful goal from Pogba in the first half put Jose Mourinho’s men in the lead before Pogba added his second of the day through a penalty.
