Medabon price in Ghana is GHS300. The medical termination pack, Medabon 200 MG Tablet, contains two medications that are used to medically end a pregnancy: Mifepristone and Misoprostol. 5 pills are included in the kit; one Mifepristone tablet and four Misoprostol tablets.

Mifepristone is a water-soluble synthetic steroid that is administered orally. It prevents the secretion of progesterone, which causes the pregnancy to end. Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin that softens the cervix, contracts the uterus, and permits the uterine contents to be expelled. Depending on the patient’s health, it’s given vaginally or orally.

Misoprostol can be self-administered or administered under the supervision of a gynaecologist so that the patient has access to health care if needed. In the case of an intrauterine pregnancy, surgical termination is advised.

If you are less than 63 days pregnant, Medabon is recommended by your doctor. If you are more than 10 weeks pregnant, doctors will not recommend this procedure.

1 Mifepristone tablet is taken first, followed with 4 Misoprostol tablets after 1-3 days. If the abortion does not happen after the first dose of Misoprostol, the second dose of Misoprostol (2 tablets) is given.

Finally,

Even if you are not having any concerns, it is critical that you return for a follow-up visit within 7 to 14 days of taking Mifepristone.

Surgery may be required if an abortion does not occur or is incomplete, or if there are major medical issues. There is a danger of birth abnormalities if the medication fails and the pregnancy continues until birth.
