Popular Ghanaian actress has expressed her thoughts on having a baby out of wedlock and she thinks there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The ‘Heels and Sneakers’ actress said there is a lot of pressure on women who give birth before they tie the knot.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the BBC on International Women’s Day, the recent mother of one said:
“I believe it’s the right thing to do. To get married, have kids, and raise a family is ideal but I believe society puts a lot of pressure on women, young women in Africa especially.”
Yvonne, who has been in the news for concealing her pregnancy and giving birth without any official marriage ceremony said so far she is happy with her life, nothing else matters to her.
According to her, what matters most is that “at the end of the day if my mum, my family is happy with me, I am happy with myself, that’s it.”
Yvonne Nelson welcomed her first child, Ryn Roberts – a girl – on Sunday, October 29, 2017, with her fiancée, Jamie Roberts.
