What To Do Today

In today’s world,  it is easy to be swamped by office meetings and emails. We spend a majority of our time working and it can become stressful at times. 

It gets worse when you have a family to take care of in addition to taking care of your job or business. Taking time out from all that becomes a necessity. 

If you’re on leave,  you’re free or it’s the weekend,  you can take out  some time. The truth is,  you deserve it.  So, what can you do today?

There are many fun things to do! Everything listed here is something you can easily do. Try out one of these new things today, you will be happy you did. 

  1. Watch sunrise

Do you remember the last time you woke up early to see the sunrise? Most times we get so engrossed in our daily activities that we forget about the natural beauty around us. 

You will be filled with exhilaration and joy by just watching the sunrise. Set an alarm if you can’t wake up by yourself that early, wake up and go to a nearby spot from where the sunrise is clearly visible. This could be a lake, bridge or even on your terrace or balcony.  

Once the sun is up, you can sit in front of it with your eyes closed , feel and soak in the fresh air and the energy of the sun. It’s a very good activity to begin your day with. 

  1. Visit a library

In today’s busy world, many hardly visit a library and if you happen to be one of such people,  then today is a good opportunity to visit a library. 

Do you remember the scent of book pages? Do you realize it’s one of the most beautiful things in the world? 

It is a nice idea to devote a good amount of your time not only reading but also smelling the book and just enjoying the silence in the library.  

If your city doesn’t have a local library,  you can find yourself a quiet café and read over there or you can also visit a bookstore to buy a few books to read. 

3. Make a list of things you are grateful for 

When we are all soaked up in our daily activities, it becomes very difficult to pause a bit, relax and sit to think about all the things we are  grateful for. 

It’s important to note that no matter how much we chase behind emotional and materialistic gains, our true happiness lies within us. 

It’s important that you realize this today, sit down and journal all the good things that have happened to you,  everything that God has blessed you with. 

There is always a sense of peace in counting your blessings or everything you are grateful for. Gratitude does a lot of good for us. It goes a long way to pay us and also makes sure we continue attracting positive things into our lives.  

4. Attend a meditation or healing workshop 

You may have been planning to devote your time for meditation for such a long time, so today,  you can take out some time for meditation.  Always remember that all you need is the first step. 

You can start by calling the workshop’s number and fix an appointment.  It’s important to note that meditation is of many types and as such, you can choose the one that best fits your personality and your schedule. 

Aside from  this, you can also take healing classes simultaneously. Today,  a lot of people heal themselves by learning healing techniques.

5. Surprise your loved ones by sending them a letter 

Do you remember the last time you said “l love you” to someone you love? Or surprised them with a materialistic gift? If you don’t remember,  then today is a nice day to do so.

In today’s era, many have forgotten how to write letters because technology has made things convenient for us. You can easily send Whatsapp and emails within a couple of minutes.  

It would be great if you sent handwritten letters to your loved ones,  family and friends.  This alone will bring a smile on their face. 

Today, do something unique in expressing your love, bring smiles on the faces of those you love and care so much for. 

6. Visit the local market

Everything is going online and as a result, we have stopped going to the farmers market or local market. Local farmers need our support especially because they earn their money through a lot of hard work.

Today, you can choose to take out some time to spend with such people, buy very fresh produce and spend time with some local craftsmen to know how they go about their work. This will bring you some different kind of enthusiasm. 

7. Watch Wildlife

Today,  you can choose to spend a few hours in nature and enjoy watching wildlife.  Going into the countryside or heading out to a local park is such a nice way to see nature in action. 

8. Do Some Gardening

Gardening is a nice way to release stress and enjoy nature, today,  you can head into your garden but if you live in a flat in the city, you can check supermarkets for indoor tomato or herb growing bags and start from there.  

9. Join a Film or Book Club

If you are a literature or film enthusiast,  then today,  you should look for a book or film club to join. 

This will enable you to meet like-minded individuals to discuss and network. 

10. Volunteer Work

Today,  you can consider doing some volunteer work for charity.  It’s important to note that this will add up to your resume, introduce you to new people and also give you new experiences.
